Being a supervisor is not just about managing peoples work, it is about protecting the wellbeing of those who work for you and seeing the signs of mental health problem early.  Better mental health support in the workplace can save UK businesses up to £8 billion per year (Mentalhealth.org).

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) also known as First aid for mental health, both are an internationally recognised training course that is equipped and designed to teach people and give them the tools to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.

Due to some of the sensitive topics of the course candidates need to be made aware that some candidates can find certain segments of the course challenging, although our tutors help whole class to feel safe and comfortable.

How the Course Is Delivered?

Our training is available in several formats, we offer the essential training you want in many ways to suit your needs.  If you have more than a few staff members that you wish to train, why not consider an onsite course.  If you require us to come to you, we can.  With qualified lead instructors based throughout the UK, HSQE Consultancy can provide training at your premises, at a time and date to suit your requirements.

We deliver the in-house courses at your location and to your needs to give you the training you require.  Businesses looking to save on cost, our in-house courses will be a much more cost-effective option for you, and you will not even need to travel; we come to you, cutting the cost considerably.

Our open courses are ideal for individuals and groups, all our open courses are for anyone wishing to up their skills and knowledge in the chosen subject, these courses can be delivered in the following ways, classroom-based, blended learning which is a mix of both webinar-based and classroom-based delivery methods, there will still be an element of both Practical and Theory assessments in the blending learning approach.

Supervising Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Level 3 – does not expire. However, we recommend that you attend an upskill course every year to refresh your skills.  Issuing of certification, as part of our environmental policy and conscientious effort to lower the impact on the environment, all certificates will be available as a link and PDF download on completion, this will be sent to you. Our e-certificates are valid certification and accepted by all governing bodies and accreditations centres.  But, if you require a physical copy we are more than happy to send one out to you.

Candidates have a good understanding of spoken and written English. While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.  Candidates do not need to have prior learning or experience in this qualification.  Please be aware that the content of the First Aid for Mental Health course can be triggering for some individuals, as there are several sensitive subject matters that must be covered.  We advise that, before booking, learners download the Course Factsheet (Press here for the factsheet), and read through the course content.

What to bring on the day?

Candidates are required to bring Photo ID in order that they may take the exam. This can either be a Passport or a Driving License.
